Road race kicks off Sunday’s activities for the serious and not-so-serious runner.
Whether you’re a die-hard half marathoner or just a light jogger, we’ve got a race for you! New to the Nashua Rotary West Annual Rock’n Ribfest this year, the St. Joseph Hospital First Annual Rock’n Ribfest 5 Miler is a great way to burn off some calories in anticipation of some of the best ribs east of the Mississippi. Runners will take their marks on Sunday, June 17 at 9:15 a.m. at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Merrimack, NH. There’s also a fun SQUEELZ Piglet Race for children 11 years and younger that ranges from 50, 150 and 300 feet, and begins at 8:45 a.m.
“St. Joseph Hospital is proud to partner with the Nashua West Rotary to bring a fitness component to the Rock’n Ribfest,” said David Ross, CEO of St. Joseph Hospital. “Adding the 5-miler makes a great event even better.”
Entry fee is $30 for adults, $20 for youth ages 12 to 20, and the Piglet Fun Run for kids ages 11 and under is free. All participants will receive free entry into the Rock’n Ribfest. Adult runners age 21 and over will receive a coupon for a complementary beer. Tech shirts will be given to the first 750 registrants.
Part of the Millennium Running Series of seven local races in New Hampshire, the Rock’n Ribfest 5 Miler is the third of seven races to be held in New Hampshire in 2012. Participants running in a minimum of five of the seven scheduled Millenium races will receive an Official Series Running Jacket and free entry to the Millennium Running Awards dinner in December 2012. Runners can pre-register for the 5-miler or the SQUEELZ Piglet Fun Run for Kids by visiting here.
